Meet our Staff!

                               Pastor Kevin

email: pastorkevinmoore@gmail.com
Hi everyone, I am Kevin Moore and I am happy to be your pastor.

I am married with 5 adult children, along with 4 grandchildren all living in eastern Iowa. My wife’s name is Amy, who is a Senior Project Manager for Rockwell Collins. As the youngest of 7, I was raised in Waterloo, but moved to Cedar Rapids as an adult to pursue a career in business. And that is where my children were raised, where they attended College Community Schools.

I have been a Methodist my entire life and a strong follower of John Wesley. Prior to answering God’s call and entering into ministry, I owned and operated a business that supplied structural and miscellaneous steel to the construction industry. I attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary where I received a master’s degree. Prior to that, as an undergrad I received a double major; one in Religion and the other in Psychology. I have served churches in East Dubuque, Grinnell, and Sharon in Cedar Rapids.

I love to travel and read and people say I have a good sense of humor. I am active and consider myself fit. You will probably see me walking around Estherville exploring our town. I also like to attend many of the high school sporting events, so please honk or say hi when you see me. My passion outside of my call would have to be golf, although it is sad to say I do not seem to find as much time to play as I did when I was in business. I also like to fish and hunt and I am excited to be near so many lakes, rivers and game management areas. I am a lifelong Hawkeye fan.

I love the interaction with all people and meeting each person here at our church, getting to know each of you on a personal level, and helping to grow this church… with the help of the Holy Spirit, and while we serve our amazing Lord together. .

I have been in this position since 2004. I love the interaction with all of the people and helping those that I can. I'm considered kind of a mini-minister since I'm on the front lines and the first person most people see. It's like working with one big family and we are all trying to help each other be better children of God.

Family: I have two grown daughters, five grandchildren and one great grandson all of whom I love and adore. Dawn lives in Frisco, TX and Holly lives in Estherville. I have two brothers and one sister.  I am widowed.

Interests and Hobbies: I enjoy swimming, boating, motorcycle riding, dancing, old time rock and roll and country western music. I keep busy with family, friends, church, volunteering for IRRMA (Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association), Rock the Roof dances in the summer at Arnolds Park, the WA TAN YE organization and Relay for Life.

Donna Probst-Church Treasurer

I have been the UMC treasurer since 2012. I am enjoying learning a new skill (computer bookkeeping) and the challenge of trying to make the financial information more useful to the church committees (an ongoing process).

Family:
Husband: Keith (physician at Avera Medical Group-Estherville)

Son Connor and daughter Gretchen.

Interests and Hobbies: My family is involved with Emmet County Special Olympics as volunteers, coaches and participants. I also like to read, sew and take photos when time permits.

Monty & Julie Montandon-Maintenance

Picture
Monty, along with the help of wife Julie when she's not working her regular job, joined the staff in May of 2016. Monty is in charge of maintenance and cleaning both the church building and the Education Unit.
Family: Monty has two daughters, Shelly in Mt. Pleasant and Angie who lives in Estherville and one son Troy, who's deceased. He has eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Julie has a daughter, Jenny who lives in Spencer. Her son Brent is deceased. She has two grandsons.
Interest and Hobbies:  They both enjoy spending time with family and working on projects together and also love to shop.  Julie likes to volunteer both in church and the community. She is active in WA TAN YE and Relay for Life.

Diane Blom - Chancel Choir Director

Picture
Diane Blom has been choir director for sixteen years.  She loves working with the members of the Chancel Choir.  She feels music is an important part of the church service.
Family:  Diane's daughter Kati and her husband Chad have 3 children: Carter, Kiley, and Cole.  Diane's son Chad is married to Jackie, and their children are Madelynn and Charlotte.
Diane enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren

Nancy Danielson-Praise Team Director

Picture
Nancy Danielson has been our Praise Team Director nearly since its inception in 2006.  She credits the success of their music ministry to the talented members of the Team and the accompanist, Randy Yackle.  They enjoy sharing a more blended style of Christian music and are especially mindful that their music brings glory to God. They enjoy not only singing together but also fellowship and prayer.

Nancy is married to Tim, also a member of the Praise Team, and they have three married daughters that all reside in Sioux Falls.  They enjoy visiting all of them and witnessing their six grandchildren all growing up in their churches and building their relationship with God.

New members – young and old are always welcome to join the Praise Team.

Pat Watt-Financial Secretary

Pat has been a part of the staff as Finance Secretary since January 1, 2017.   She is enjoying the members and staff. Pat and her husband, Steve, who is a retired educator from Lincoln Central and ELC, are high school sweethearts who have been married for 48 years. They have lived in Estherville since 1973 and have two sons, Mike and Matt and have three granddaughters. Mike and his daughter, Katniss, live in Estherville.  Matt, his wife, Ricca, and their two daughters, Ryla and Mory, live in Omaha.

Previously, Pat has worked in banking, car dealership accounting and recorder’s office until retirement in 2016.

In addition to duties of Finance secretary, she also has two booths at Heartland Co-op, Pat’s Beauty and Gifts and the Tinkered Treasures and has been an Avon Rep for 26 years.

She really enjoys family time, especially being grandma to her three granddaughters. Steve and Pat have enjoyed being Iowa State Cyclone football season ticket holders since 1994. Love the Cyclones! For hobbies, genealogy tops the list and scrapbooking.

Randy G. Yackle-Organist, choir and Praise Team Accompanist

In June of 2016, Randy became our organist and church accompanist.  Randy worked as a musical director and conductor in the professional theatre from 1978 to 2000. He was on the staff of many regional and dinner theatres across the U.S.  In 1985 Randy worked as Mel Torme's pianist during his Midwestern concert tour.

Randy moved home to care for his sister Deanna until her death in 2003. He then opened a voice and piano studio in Fairmont, MN as well as teaching piano at Iowa Lakes Community College.

Randy now teaches a select few students but says he is "retired".
Playing organ is his creative outlet and he enjoys making music for his church family. Randy enjoys working with the many talented musicians that bless or church.
