Greetings to all,
It has been a while since I sent an update out. The church Council has had a few things that they've been getting updates on and reviewing.
The first one is our new organ. At first it looked like we were going to repair the old organ and then a Very Gracious Donor stepped forward and donated enough money to purchase a brand new organ. ( Thank You To The Donor ) The organ is being built and then it will be delivered and set up so we are all anxiously awaiting that time. Randy Yackle has been very instrumental in helping the company get the organ built and set up. Gary Myers from the trustees has fixed the existing spot where the old organ was and the new organ will be placed.
The second one is, the media team has been working on getting a new sound board and 3 new cameras. The cameras will be strategically placed so that when they are broadcasting on Facebook live and the local cable channel, it’s a high quality picture and sound. For those of us that have been watching Facebook live and the cable channel we can already see there's a difference in the quality of the sound and the picture to this point. It is a work in progress and the team is getting there with all the upgrades. Thank You So Much media team.
You can also tune into Facebook live Thursday mornings at 9:00 AM and listen to Pastor Kevin’s devotion for the week. Pastor Kevin has been getting back together with the confirmands on a regular basis. The Wednesday after school program is going again too with the meals and the programs for the kids. There has been a very good turnout for that program. Both those things are good news.
We are back to having Sunday church services and Wednesday night Remix services. There is a section in the far north side of the sanctuary that is still taped off for every other pew to be sat in to keep the social distancing. The accordion doors have been opened and there are chairs sitting in fellowship hall facing the sanctuary. Those chairs are spaced for social distancing also. They can be moved as far apart or as close as the people sitting in them feel is comfortable. In the other sections of the sanctuary the tape has been taken off of the pews, that doesn’t mean the church is not promoting social distancing and the wearing of masks. The church is still strongly encouraging you to keep your social distancing even though the tape is not on the pews, Again the church is promoting social distancing and the wearing of masks as we always have since covid started. According to the Annual Conference we are still in a yellow zone with covid. That means that we can conduct church services, but we need to promote social distancing and wearing of masks and do what we can to make our church as safe as possible for the ones that are attending. We will conduct church this way until we are out of the yellow zone and into the green zone.
There are many other things that the various committees have been working on and are an important part to keeping our church up and going. But for this update I’ve just hit some of the high points.
I feel that we have been very blessed through covid to still be able to worship through the services being broadcasted by local radio, the local cable channel and Facebook live along with in person Church services. I want to extend a very huge Thank You to the people that make it possible to have worship services on a regular basis by so many means. Even when our church was shut down because of covid concerns we were able to continue to have worship on Sundays. Again, Thank you very much to those special people for their special talents that they share with us all the time.
To The Church Family, Blessings to you all !!
