So, now I'm over a week late in posting (and never posted for Bible Reading), but this, like me, is a work in progress. If you remember Wednesday, October 14th, and Sunday, October 18th were spent talking about worship. Worship is important to we are, it is done in community (with others), but God is the one who we are truly worshiping, and is the only recipient of our worship. However, there are many ways to worship. Some like hymns, some like contemporary, and some like even more modern music. Some like the use of media, videos, etc., and others do not. This Fall we have begun the Wednesday Night Remix in order to reach out to more people, who may prefer a different time or format to the traditional worship experience. The point is that sometimes we get so wrapped up in all of these and other items, that we sometimes fail to remember the reason for coming in the first place.
What are you willing to commit to? Attending worship 6 times a year? Attending once a month? Four times a month?
Yesterday, and last Wednesday was about witnessing, or sharing our faith with others. For many of us witnessing can be a scary thing, but there are ways that we can share our faith. One way is to invite others to attend worship with us, another is to see a need and try fulfilling it.
How are you sharing your faith story with others? Are you looking for opportunities daily to share about Jesus? Are we still enough to feel the gentle nudges of God?
My husband, Allan, and I moved to Estherville in June of 2015. We are excited to be here, and to be in ministry with Estherville UMC!
