A note from Pastor Kevin
Hi everyone. I am Kevin Moore and I am happy to be your new pastor. I am married with 5 adult children, along with 4 grandchildren all living in eastern Iowa. My wife’s name is Amy, and she works in sales and teaches at Kirkwood in Iowa City. I was born in Fayette, Iowa but was raised in Waterloo. As an adult I moved to Cedar Rapids, where my children were raised. I have been a Methodist my entire life and a strong follower of John Wesley. Prior to answering God’s call and entering into ministry, I owned and operated a business that supplied structural and miscellaneous steel to the construction industry. I attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary where I received a master’s degree. Prior to that, as an undergrad I received a double major; one in Religion and the other in Psychology. I have served churches in East Dubuque, Grinnell, and Sharon in Cedar Rapids. I love to travel and read and people say I have a good sense of humor. I am active and consider myself fit. You will probably see me walking around Estherville exploring my new home. I hope to attend many of your high school sporting events, so please honk or say hi when you see me. My passion outside of my call would have to be golf, although it is sad to say I do not seem to find as much time to play as I did when I was in business. I also like to fish and I am excited to be near so many lakes and rivers. I do like sports and I am a lifelong Hawkeye fan. I look forward to meeting each person at Estherville UMC, getting to know all of you, and helping to grow the church with the help of the Holy Spirit while we serve the Lord together.
Nancy Hanby-Administrative Assistant
I have been in this position since 2004. I love the interaction with all of the people and helping those that I can. I'm considered kind of a mini-minister since I'm on the front lines and the first person most people see. It's like working with one big family and we are all trying to help each other be better children of God.
Family: I have two grown daughters and five grandchildren whom I all love and adore. I am blessed to still have my father, two brothers and one sister. I am widowed.
Interests and Hobbies: I enjoy swimming, boating, motorcycle riding, dancing, old time rock and roll and country western music. I keep busy with family, friends, church, Iowa PAUMCS (Professional Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries), volunteering for IRRMA (Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association), Rock the Roof dances in the summer at Arnolds Park, the WA TAN YE organization and Relay for Life.
Donna Probst-Church Treasurer
I have been the UMC treasurer since 2012. I am enjoying learning a new skill (computer bookkeeping) and the challenge of trying to make the financial information more useful to the church committees (an ongoing process).
Husband: Keith (physician at Avera Medical Group-Estherville)
Son: Connor (participant at Echo Plus and shreds paper for community businesses)
Daughter: Gretchen (biology at Simpson College)
Interests and Hobbies: My family is involved with Emmet County Special Olympics as volunteers, coaches and participants. I also like to read, sew and take photos when time permits.
